The role will also include spending 1:1 time with residents but also facilitating therapeutic groups when needed. Supporting the MDT to assess and provide care and treatment whilst positively managing any potential risk. For example, this could include identifying relapse indicators, teaching residents how to administer their medication independently, encouraging residents to build social and support networks in the community etc.
As a band 5 nurse you will be expected to act as key nurse to residents as well as associate nurse. This will include spending time with residents and building a therapeutic relationship with them, completing ward round reports jointly with the resident.
Providing nursing input on ward rounds, best interest meetings, care and treatment reviews and the administration of prescribed medication. Within in the rehabilitation and recovery service the use of safe wards and positive behavioural support plans are utilised.
