The successful candidates will play a vital role in delivering compassionate and professional nursing care to individuals in a variety of settings, including mental health inpatient wards and community services. You will work flexibly, providing high-quality care as needed to support the staffing requirements of the Trust.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality, person-centred nursing care to patients in a safe, effective, and compassionate manner.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to assess, plan, and implement care plans for patients.
  • Administer medications, monitor progress, and assist with clinical procedures.
  • Provide support to patients with mental health conditions, learning disabilities, or other complex needs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with Trust policies.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development and contribute to team learning.
  • On occasion acting as the Nurse in Charge, providing quality leadership to services.

What We’re Looking For?
  • Particularly Registered Mental Health or Learning Disability with scope for General Nurses with interest and experience in services provided by the Trust.
  • All applicants must be NMC registered as a nurse.
  • Experience in mental health, learning disability or other relevant clinical areas.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong commitment to patient care.
  • Ability to work flexibly, which may include nights, weekends, and bank holidays, as per the needs of the Trust.
  • A compassionate, professional attitude with a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of patients.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preparing your Application

To be successful in your application, you will need to have successfully completed full training including preceptorship, demonstrate your knowledge and dedication to high standards of patient care. You will need to be a reliable, enthusiastic and a self-motivated individual, possessing excellent communication skills and be adaptable to changing situations.

You will need to be friendly and approachable whilst remaining professional. It is essential that you are reliable, punctual and work well within our services, as well as working under Trust Policy and the NMC Code of Conduct.

We are particularly looking to see in your application
  • Evidence of nursing qualifications and NMC registration.
  • Your Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
  • Your experience in Mental Health and/or Learning Disability services.
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and the affect on service users and families.
  • Evidence of leading or working as a team.
  • Understanding of our Trust Values particularly Proud to CARE and SPAR.
