Nuclear Medicine Radiographer / Technologist
Job overview
We are looking for a Radiographer or Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our Nuclear Medicine team, based in Torbay Hospital.
Within the past two years we have installed a GE SPECT CT Gamma Camera and the service has its own bespoke radiopharmacy unit where we prepare our daily radiopharmaceuticals for imaging.
You will have existing good working knowledge of NM imaging, have good organisational and interpersonal skills, and have NM imaging experience. We will consider applicants who have limited experience but who have an interest in developing their career in NM imaging.
Main duties of the job
You will work as part of the NM and wider Radiology team, supporting Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust (TSDFT) in delivering a high quality, safe and patient focussed service.
You will represent Nuclear Medicine, the wider Radiology team and TSDFT in a professional and appropriate manner.
Contribute to safe working practices, ensuring full compliance with all local and national guidance and regulatory requirements.
The service supports in the region of 1800 exams per year.

Person specification
Knowledge and Skills
Essential criteria- Knowledge of legislation and guidance associated with the manufacture and preparation of radionuclide.
- Knowledge of legislation regarding administration, storage and disposal of radioactivity decontamination techniques where necessary.
- Evidence that candidate is a good self organiser able to work under own initiative within proficiencies achieved
Qualifications and training
Essential criteria- BSc in Radiography or equivalent Healthcare Scientist Qualification
- Experience in Nuclear Medicine Imaging
- Certificate of competence in iv cannulation
- Post graduate diploma in Nuclear Medicine Imaging
- Recent experience of NHS Healthcare delivery
