The Role:As the Payroll and Pensions Officer, you will take ownership of managing the entire payroll function for both permanent staff and casual workers. This sole role requires someone who thrives in a position of responsibility and autonomy, ensuring the smooth running of payroll and pensions with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:Processing monthly payroll for permanent and casual workersAdministrating the LGPS and Teachers Pension SchemesManaging payroll adjustments, tax calculations and statutory paymentsKeeping up to date with payroll legislation, compliance and college specific policiesProviding accurate reports and liasing with key stakeholders, including HR and Finance Experience:Proven experience in payroll, ideally within an education setting or a similar structured organisationAbility to work independelty ensuring that all deadlines are metStrong knowledge of payroll software, pensions administration and UK payroll legislationExcellent organisational and communication skills with a high degree of attention to detailA proactive approach to problem solving and process improvements This is a part time, permanent role - offering flexibility for the right candidate to balance work with other commitments while contributing to the ongoing success of the payroll and HR department.
