Legal Assistant
Temporary Legal Assistant (Litigation) | Norwich | ASAP
The role is a full-time, office-based position, reporting into the Senior In-House Counsel (Litigation), and is focused on supporting the litigation team with the day-to-day administration and organisation of cases for at least 6 weeks.
Role overview:
The Legal Assistant will provide administrative support across all aspects of litigation work, helping to ensure cases are well organised and run smoothly. Responsibilities include managing physical and electronic post, diary management, inputting and monitoring key dates within the case management system, typing dictation where required, maintaining accurate records, monitoring the central inbox, and filing documents by email, post, or at court.
The role also supports effective coordination across the team by allocating incoming work as needed and ensuring internal systems are kept fully up to date.
Skills and experience sought:
- Strong administrative skills, including filing, diary management, and attention to detail
- Professional email and telephone manner
- Ability to communicate clearly and adapt communication style to different audiences
- Team-focused approach with a strong customer and colleague support mindset
- Competence in Microsoft Office
- GCSEs (or equivalent) required
- Ideally around two years’ experience in a similar role
- A legal background and experience using case management systems is helpful but not essential
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365, particularly SharePoint and Excel, is desirable
