With a hands-on culture and close proximity to its clients, Sogeti is currently looking for a Non-Functional Test Engineer to join our Quality Engineering and Test Practice, ensuring alignment with business goals and driving impactful value creation for our clients.

Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

Your role

Essential Skills
  • Extensive experience in the defect lifecycle and defect analysis.
  • Proven expertise in testing failover, Disaster Recovery, Backup and Restore, Batch Scheduling, Operability, Alerts/Monitoring, and Performance Testing.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as AppDynamics and OpsView.
  • Experience in testing and validating service continuity planning and contributing to operational readiness.
  • Proficient in producing detailed test plans and test run plans.
  • Broad experience across Unit Testing, Functional Testing, Integration Testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Operational Process Testing (OPT), and System Capacity Testing (SCT).
  • Experience with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools for Test Plan creation, Test Lab management, and defect tracking.
  • Proficiency in documenting defects using defect management systems like JIRA and determining appropriate resolutions.
  • Strong technical knowledge of SQL and Python for testing and automation purposes.
  • Ability to review non-functional requirements and specifications to ensure they are clear and testable.

Your skills and experience

Mandatory Skills
  • Develop and design test cases and scripts based on requirements and specifications.
  • Execute test cases and document any deviations from the original scripts.
  • Log and compile test results into technical test exit reports.
  • Record and document defects identified during testing and collaborate with hardware, infrastructure, and software technical teams to resolve issues.
  • Provide daily test reports to the management team, including updates on testing progress, risks, and results.
  • Qualified with ISEB/ISTQB Foundation certification in Software Testing.
  • The candidate must be eligible for Security Clearance (SC) for this project. This requires a minimum of five consecutive years of residency in the UK, with no single period of absence from the country exceeding 28 days during that time.

Your security clearance

To be successfully appointed to this role, it is a requirement to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance.
To obtain SC clearance, the successful applicant must have resided continuously within the United Kingdom for the last 5 years, along with other criteria and requirements.
Throughout the recruitment process, you will be asked questions about your security clearance eligibility such as, but not limited to, country of residence and nationality.
