KS3 Teacher – Nurture programme
Location: Effingham, SurreyContract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £33,075 - £50,471 per year (M1 - UPS3 Fringe) Plus £5,000 Welcome bonus For Qualified Teacher*
Hours:
- 40 hours per week
- Term Time only
- Start time 8.15am
- Finish time Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday 4.45pm.
Thursday 5pm and Friday 4pm
Teaching Personnel have an opportunity to work with an exceptional SEN School based in Surrey. The school are looking to recruit a KS3 Teacher to run the nurture programme within the team. The students, they are aged between 11 – 16 with ASD and other complex or anxiety related needs who may present with challenging behaviours associated with their diagnosis.Some pupils may have multiple learning difficulties.
Key Duties- To contribute to the delivery and development of the curriculum, having regard to the educational, physical and social needs of the students within a learning environment.
- To work collaboratively with other members of staff as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- To monitor, assess, review and report on the progress and work of students to parents, team members, senior staff, examination and funding bodies through reports and identified meetings as directed and as is required through school policies and procedures.
- To develop lesson plans analysing and self-reflecting on the outcomes.
- To attend and contribute to all relevant meetings and maintain good lines of communication with other staff.
- To contribute to the review of EHC plans, PEP and LAC reviews.
- To provide clear structures for lessons maintaining pace, motivation and challenge.
- To take account of wider curriculum developments.
- To maintain an overall awareness of current issues in the field of autism in order to be able to plan for effective teaching and learning.
- Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training.
- Experience of working in a special school environment and in particular with pupils with ASC and SEND
- Experience of successfully delivering a differentiated curriculum to pupils with a wide range of needs.
