First Line of Response Supervisor

Keys Responsibilities
- To supervise the delivery of the emergency response service for the Client and its passengers/visitors at the Eurotunnel site, which will include rescue services, medical treatment, and potentially a first line basic fire response
- In an emergency, FLOR teams must verify SAFE system has started or take localised control where required
- Supervise maintenance duties, monitoring, and reporting activities as required by the Client in the specified timelines
- Monitor and report FLOR activities through means of carrying out Intervention Reports and Prevention Activity Reports
- Monitor, inspect and maintain equipment in line with Client requirements
- Liasing with the Emergency Centres and Client Control Centres
- Supervise and Manage risk prevention activities as defined by the Client
- To be responsible for protecting and securing customer assets at Eurotunnel
- In case of emergency, verification that the evacuation has been completed or assist train crew with evacuation if still underway
- Supervise searches in the tunnel with direct and permanent contact with RCC. This could include but are not limited to; odours, smoke, suspicious noises, and personnel not responding to calls
- Completion of all relevant documentation in accordance with Client requirements
- To supervise and participate in Client scenario training exercises
- To understand and comply with all Falck QHSE policy, annual safety improvement plan and procedures
- To interface directly with internal and external customers as Customer focus is a key activity
- To interface with external emergency services, regulatory authorities, and local community during daily activities or during an emergency
- In an emergency, command all FLOR units available, whatever the location of the incident with carrying out emergency response and rescue
- A flexible approach to the tasks at hand, this will also include flexibility when rest periods need to be modified due to external constraints and where a recall to duty is required
- In an emergency, ensuring Client’s timescales for emergency response by FLOR units are met
- Modification of the rest periods of FLOR units to take account of external constraints to ensure all the priority requirements set by the Client are met
- Complete unit to relief handovers within the service tunnel
- Ability to deliver confined space rescue
- Ability to work at height
- Ability to work to tight deadlines under pressure in emergency scenarios
- The ability to influence and communicate with others at all levels
- Ability to work within limited supervision; to make decisions and use own initiative and to maintain high standards of self and others
- Ability to deal with sensitive & confidential matters as necessary
- Ensure high levels of data protection and security at all times.
- This role involves working 12-hour shifts on a 24/7 shift rota.

- Good organisational and interpersonal skills
- Excellent listening skills

- Ability to effectively use Eurotunnel reporting methods
- Competence in basis IT skills for internal and customer reporting
- Ability to work safely at all times
- Achieve internal standards of Falck on-job Annual training Plan
- Physically fit to be ‘fit for purpose’ and meet internal requirements of Safety Critical Medical and physical standards annually
- Good time management
- A high level for detail and standards
- Good team working skills
- Good level of literacy and numeracy
- Basic French Speaking words and numbers (however lessons will be provided on the key phrases required)
- Emergency response experience, including medical, rescue and first line fire responder (Training will be provided, where there is no experience)
