Job Description- Responsible for managing the flow of product, components and supplies into the local business and onward to end user.
- Monitor inventory levels and demand on the ERP system and place appropriate purchase orders as required with parent company
- Expediate and prioritise orders with parent company as appropriate using available tools to interrogate the ERP system for relevant information. Expediate further with freight companies if required on progress of shipments.
- For non product related procurement ensure the business has appropriate suppliers for all required goods and services, such as office supplies, consumables, PPE, tooling etc. Raise purchase orders accordingly and liaise with Finance Manager on budget control for the various categories
- Manage service exchange units on the return trip to parent company for remanufacturing.
- Ensure all customs and freight documentation is created to allow goods importation to be optimised.
Work closely with Finance Manager and sales colleagues on agreeing and implementing safety stock levels.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Materials Controller should have:* Previous experience of purchasing goods and/or services- Experience of operating fork trucks, if licence is expired training can be provided to reinstate
- Flexibility is key to the success of this role, as part of a small on site team there will need to be good team working, this in turn gives good opportunities to develop further.
- Experience of an ERP system essential, training will be provided for the specific system in use, Dynamics 365 Business Central
- Must possess a strong customer service orientation and sense of urgency
- Good analysis and communication (written and oral) skills essential
- High level of PC literacy; especially in Excel.
- A competitive salary circa £40,000 DOE
