As Connected and Automated Mobility Services (CAMS) regulatory product specialist, you will support the development, integration and implementation of various CAMS products into the relevant Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) services.

You will be joining our CAMS team and will support the development of regulatory services. Our products cover Driver, Vehicle and Regulatory services working with the Centre for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CCAV) as part of the governments Connected and Automated Vehicles Process for Assuring Safety and Security (CAVPASS) program, to implement the Automated Vehicle Act 2024 and secure safe deployments of the technology on UK roads.

In this interesting role you will work with colleagues and stakeholders to develop policies and processes by understanding the legislation and regulations that will govern CAM deployments on Great British roads.

Our rapidly evolving technical environment will require a proactive and flexible approach to personal development to keep up to date with technology development and Government objectives.

This role provides a great opportunity to closely interact with Department for Transport (DfT), CCAV, industry, other government bodies, and internal teams including policy, operations, enforcement and digital services.

Your key duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Working with the product manager and other product specialists, supporting the development and delivery of the CAMS product(s) to meet the team objectives.
  • Collaborating with DVSA, DfT colleagues and key stakeholders, to ensure that developments in UK and EU legislation support the Agency’s and Department’s overall CAMS strategy.
  • Working with the product manager to design and develop product(s) from inception of legislation through to implementation, including responses to technical progress, legislative changes and customer-led demand to improve the overall effectiveness of the product(s) and service provision.
  • Collaborating with colleagues from Operations, Digital Services and Technology, Human Resources, Learning and Development, Estates and Finance to support policy and service development, providing feedback as required.
  • Providing product/policy advice and guidance to stakeholders and customers on any component of the product lifecycle.
  • Engaging with industry, academia and other public sector organisations to support development of the technology as an inclusive service.
