We are recruiting an Associate Director of Data, Analytics and AI to help us become a clinically driven, digitally outstanding Trust.
This post is a key leadership role with responsibility for the overall delivery of all aspects of AI, Data Insight and Intelligence at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The post holder will participate actively in the formulation of the Trust’s digital strategy; this will be delivered by providing informatics expertise and support to the Trust Board, Senior Leadership Team and clinical divisions and corporate services, to ensure there is widespread awareness of the ways in which high quality information and intelligence can help improve the quality, safety, efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainability of Trust services.
They will have responsibility for leadership, direction, and management of the Data, Insight, Intelligence and Analytics portfolios to ensure that the strategy is translated into action and ensure plans are aligned and developed consistently.
Leading on new ways of working, the role will enhance the current service provision and lead on the transformation of reporting delivery across clinical and professional teams.

Person specification
Experience
Essential criteria- Extensive experience on the design, and implementation on innovative, and modern data, analytics and AI technologies pertaining to organisational performance
- Extensive experience working in conjunction with a Chief Digital Information Officer and Executive Directors on the strategic development and delivery of Data, Insight and Intelligence services
- Experience of successfully managing central operational services in a complex organisation (including people and budgetary management)
- Experience and achievements at a management level, including the handling of highly complex problems and making judgements on issues without precedent
- Extensive data, analytics strategy design and implementation
- Experience of providing advice to, and liaising with, managers/staff and all levels, including with Executive Directors and senior clinicians
- A proven track record of leading, developing, and inspiring Data, Insight and Intelligence teams
- Experience of implementing dashboards in large complex organisations
- Proven ability to engage effectively with a broad range of multi-professional stakeholders within and outside the organization
Skills
Essential criteria- Ability to implement strategic plans, including driving the maturity level of the Foundation Trust with respect to business intelligence.
- The ability to relay highly-complex information concepts and issues to all levels of staff from the front line through to the Board, within and out with the organisation, both orally and in written form.
- Highly developed inter-personal skills, able to negotiate with and influence senior managers and clinical staff, inside and outside the Trust including negotiating agreements and plans with the commissioners.
- Good leadership, organisational and motivational skills
- Ability to work autonomously to agreed broad corporate objectives and without reference to line manager/director.
- Ability to work with quality and governance functions to jointly agree and implement improvement programmes.

Knowledge
Essential criteria- Advanced, expert level knowledge of the NHS clinical and non-clinical data and information agendas, all statutory and mandatory reporting (clinical and non-clinical), and the use of NHS data for business intelligence.
- Expert knowledge of legislation and mandatory requirements affecting NHS business intelligence.
- Detailed knowledge of BI, Performance and IG in the NHS and experience of delivering effective Reporting, Clinical Coding, Data Warehouse and Data Quality services
- Knowledge and experience of developing and implementing innovative and transformational services within a public sector setting
- Ability to identify and implement best practice from other organisations
Qualifications
Essential criteria- Master’s degree level qualification in informatics related subject or equivalent experience
- Evidence of relevant Leadership and Management Development
- Evidence of continuing professional and personal development
- Recognised project management qualification, such as MSP or PRINCE 2 Practitioner
- Healthcare Leadership qualification
