Are you a Band Saw Operator looking for a genuine long term career opportunity? My client is a stockist of an extensive range of metals around the UK, offering a Temp to Perm position in their Birmingham branch for Band Saw Operator with some experience.

They are a long-established business with excellent rates of pay and working conditions. They can offer training for the successful Saw Operator/ Fabricator.

Ideally you will have some previous experience within the metal industry with operating an FLT (Ideally counterbalance or reach) and be available to start work immediately.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain band saw machinery to cut various materials according to specifications.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders.
• Select the appropriate materials and set up the band saw for cutting.
• Monitor the cutting process to ensure accurate dimensions and quality of cuts.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of the band saw equipment.
• Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and meet deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience operating band saw machinery in a fabrication or manufacturing setting.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
• Basic understanding of different types of materials and their properties.
• Familiarity with maintenance and troubleshooting of band saw equipment.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
