Intervention Teaching Assistant – Phonics (KS1)
Position: Intervention Teaching Assistant (Phonics)Location: Primary School in Crosby

Are you passionate about helping young learners build strong foundations in phonics and literacy? A welcoming and supportive primary school in Crosby is seeking a dedicated Intervention Teaching Assistant to work with Key Stage 1 pupils on phonics interventions.
About the Role- Deliver small group and one-to-one phonics sessions to KS1 pupils.
- Support students in line with the school’s phonics strategy to close attainment gaps.
- Use phonics schemes such as Letters and Sounds, Read Write Inc., or Jolly Phonics to deliver targeted interventions.
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, feeding back to class teachers and SENCO.
- Encourage pupil confidence and engagement in reading and writing activities.
- Monday to Friday, 8:30am until 2:45pm.
Candidate Requirements
We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic individual with:
- Experience in delivering phonics interventions using schemes like Letters and Sounds, Read Write Inc., or similar.
- A proven track record of supporting KS1 pupils to improve their reading and literacy skills.
- Excellent communication and rapport-building skills with young children.
- Flexibility, patience, and a positive attitude towards helping pupils achieve their potential.
- Desirable: Previous experience in a primary school setting and/or an understanding of KS1 curriculum requirements.
