Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with additional learning needs? Teaching Personnel are looking for dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants with ALN experience to join our team and provide valuable support to students with diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with additional learning needs (ALN) across the curriculum.
  • Assist the class teacher in planning and adapting lessons to meet the specific needs of ALN students.
  • Help students develop independence in their learning and build essential life skills.
  • Support students’ social and emotional development, promoting inclusion and positive behaviour.
  • Work closely with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other staff to implement individual learning plans (ILPs) and track progress.
  • Assist with classroom management and provide support in ensuring a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment.
  • Collaborate with parents and external professionals, maintaining strong communication and ensuring consistency in the support provided.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with additional learning needs, preferably in a school or educational setting.
  • A strong understanding of the challenges faced by ALN students and strategies to support their learning and development.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support students in reaching their full potential.
  • Excellent communication skills, both with students and colleagues, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, SEN qualification) are desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to be flexible, creative, and proactive in finding solutions to meet the needs of individual students.
