We are comprised of Mental Health Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Support Workers, Peer support and medical and leadership staff. We deliver high quality evidence based interventions to the population of our area who require support with psychosis and non psychosis related difficulties.

We provide both individual and group interventions and there is a plethora of training and support opportunities available to our staff members.

Main duties of the job

As part of this team, you will be encouraged to grow and develop in your role, and to contribute to the development of the service.

To be responsible for the assessment and management of casework of service users who have substantial and complex needs.

To deliver evidenced based Clinical and Psychologically based Interventions.

Coordinate Treatment Planning & Interventions, Reviews and Discharge Planning.

To complete duty days supporting the CTT when other clinicians are not available.

Working alongside other agencies to support services users with integrating into the community and supporting their biopsychosocial needs.

We are able to support staff to take up accredited training in evidence based therapies You will be able to develop your skills by working with service users who have a range of complex mental health needs with associated risk, and you will need to demonstrate experience of being able to plan and deliver in collaboration with service users, families and their carers.

Person specification

Qualification

Essential criteria
  • Professional Qualification and current Professional Registration as, a First Level Registered Nurse (RNMH, RMN, RNLD) or equivalent as an AHP, Social Worker or Clinical Psychologist
  • Mentor Training.
  • Evidence of post-registration training in clinical/ psychological interventions / skills relevant to the post.
  • Proven track record of post registration clinical experience relevant to the post.
  • Training in CPA (Care Programme Approach), Safeguarding, MAPPA (Multi Agency Panel for the Protection of Vulnerable Adults) and Child Protection.
  • Up-to-date knowledge/experience of relevant legislation.
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of evidence based treatments for psychosis and non psychosis

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Awareness and understanding of professional accountability, NMC standards and other local and national initiatives.
  • 12 to 24 month band 5 qualified nurse experience dependent upon service need.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working within a community mental health setting

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of evidence based interventions such as Structured Clinical Management, CBT, Family Interventions
  • Awareness and understanding of professional accountability, professional standards and of local and national initiatives
Desirable criteria
  • Clinical leadership

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Adaptability, flexibility, excellent communication skills and commitment to multi-agency team work
  • Ability to provide evidence based therapeutic interventions
  • comprehensive skills for continuous assessment of risks/safety planning skills
  • proven ability to carry out and provide comprehensive written assessments of individuals with complex mental health needs.
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team.
  • Evidence of a high level of professional, organisational and leadership skills (self & others).

  • Knowledge of other services which link to community services including voluntary and statutory agencies.
