Maintenance Technician - Mechanical
Work as part of the Maintenance team to ensure the top-tier COMAH site operates in a safe and productive manner. Maintain and repair Mechanical systems and equipment. Assist in actions for continuous improvement. Be flexible in your approach to duties in accordance with the requirements of the business.
Provide practical and technical Mechanical maintenance support to ensure the integrity and operability of all company operating facilities.
Carry out both reactive and planned maintenance work, working part of a small team across one plant.
Provide accurate updates on the progress of the works daily.
Ensure all work is executed to the agreed maintenance plan.
Apply specific technical skills as required to support expediting issues quickly to minimise downtime
Undertake continuous training and development.
Carry out work in line with instructions from approved risk assessments.
Understand and work in accordance with the company’s quality requirements.
Perform effective diagnosis of breakdowns and timely repair of equipment to maximise availability.
Perform scheduled planned preventative maintenance in accordance with minimised unplanned downtime.
Report any damage or replacement needs of maintenance tools, equipment and spares.
Document breakdowns, identifying root cause and remedial action to help identify and resolve recurring issues.
Understand and maintain high standards of tidiness and organisation in line with good 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardise, Sustain) practice.
Understand and work in accordance with mandatory requirements of Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
Requirements
Mechanical trained and experienced, a background in chemical manufacturing would be advantageous.
Substantial experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably automotive
Commercial understanding of the impact of failure/downtime on production and ultimately customer delivery
Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and recognised QC (Quality Control) tools
Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
Working hours: Monday to Thursday 7.30am - 4pm, and Fridays 7.30am - 3.00pm. Participation on the 'On-call' rota every one in four weeks is required, with a 2hour response to call-outs for critical Production / Safety incidents only
