Job Profile
As the Head of Business Development / BD Director, you will play a key role in driving the growth and success of our company. Working closely with the CEO, CTO and Head of Chemistry, you will seek out and foster new business relationships to integrate Thermulon’s aerogels into exciting new products across the EV and Construction industry.This will involve finding new partners, negotiating contracts, scoping and developing projects with the chemistry team and making sure these are delivered on time and on budget. It is a highly cross-disciplinary role that crosses commercial, technical, IP and legal.
Responsibilities- Identify and target new business opportunities in the construction and electric vehicle industry
- Lead the outreach and development of new commercial projects to integrate Thermulon’s aerogel powders into products with commercial partners.
- Work alongside the COO, CTO and the Head of Chemistry to develop technical projects outcomes, timelines and budgets for projects.
- Help to structure and negotiate Joint Development or Supplier Agreements (or similar) alongside the CEO and Lawyers with a focus towards Intellectual Property.
- Manage internal relationships and work with multidisciplinary teams at Thermulon.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and customers
- Analyse market trends and competitor activities to inform business decisions
- Manage the entire project lifecycle, from concept to delivery and beyond.
- Technical degree or equivalent, preferably in chemistry, materials science or engineering at Masters level (MSci or MEng).
- 3-7+ years experience in a business development or equivalent position.
- Experience in developing and negotiating agreements from an IP perspective.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute commercial strategies
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
