As a Childcare Solicitor, you will:
- Independently handle a variety of childcare-related cases (family law is handled by a separate team)
- Provide practical and skilled representation across all stages of childcare proceedings, including:
- Wardship
- Parental Responsibility Orders
- Contact Orders
- Interim Care and Supervision Orders
- Offer advice on key areas such as:
- Public Law Outline (PLO) meetings with authorities
- Child Protection issues
- Section 20 accommodation in foster care
- Children’s services involvement and assessments
- Work alongside additional specialists when required for the best client outcomes
What we are looking for:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in childcare law, including managing your own caseload and conducting advocacy
- Proficiency in all stages of childcare proceedings and related matters, including PLOs and child protection
- A passion for advocating for children and their families during challenging times
Preferred Qualifications:
- Children Law Panel Accreditation: Membership of the Law Society’s Children Law Panel
- Reputation: a strong Children’s Guardian following is a plus
