The Role
A high-achieving secondary school in North Bristol is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Science to join its successful department. The school delivers a knowledge-rich curriculum with a strong focus on research-led teaching, ensuring that students receive the highest quality education.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging and high-quality Science lessons at KS3 and KS4.
- Incorporate cognitive science principles and evidence-based teaching strategies into classroom practice.
- Support the school’s commitment to knowledge-rich education by ensuring students access rigorous and challenging content.
- Contribute to the school’s ethos and values, upholding high expectations for student behaviour and learning.
- Work collaboratively with the Science department, sharing best practices and refining teaching strategies.
- Participate in ongoing professional development, including personalised 1:1 coaching sessions and weekly CPD.
The Ideal Candidate
The school is looking for a passionate and driven Science teacher who:
- Holds QTS and has experience teaching Science at KS3 and KS4.
- Has a strong understanding of research-led teaching methods, including Rosenshine’s Principles and direct instruction.
- Shares the school’s commitment to providing outstanding education for all students, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
- Can engage and inspire students of all abilities, fostering a love for Science.
- Works well in a team-focused environment, contributing to the department’s ongoing success.
