Job overview
Working closely with other professionals in the team, the post holder will work across traditional age barriers to provide a liaison service that is inclusive of all adults aged 18 and over, whilst being supported to develop expert skills in specific areas of liaison.This post will be supported by a clinical team and will involve developing working relationships with our colleagues in the acute hospital trust The service operates 7 days a week over 24 hours, therefore unsocial hours, including night duty is an expectation of this post.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be a Registered Mental Health Nurse and have ENB 998 / C&G 730 or equivalent. Additionally, you should have evidence of continual professional learning relevant to the post.
Experience with patients with self harm behaviour, patients in crisis, and skills in CBT and Brief Solution Focused Therapy would be an advantage.
You will require excellent communication skills and be able to work under pressure.
18 months post qualifying experience including sign off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework) is essential.

Qualifications
Essential criteria- Current professional registration with Nursing & Midwifery Council - RNMH or RNLD
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
- Recognised Practice Supervisor and/or Practice Assessor, clinical educator or equivalent. Must be achieved within 6 months
- Trained in Clinical Supervision and providing clinical supervision OR willingness to work towards within 6 months
- Leadership or management qualification
- Post-graduate qualification in a relevant area e.g. older people’s nursing, physical health conditions etc.
- Non-medical prescriber
Experience
Essential criteria- 18 months post qualifying experience including sign off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework)
- Recent and significant experience in the assessment and care of adults and older people with mental ill health.
- Experience working with people with dementia
- Experience managing own caseload
- Working collaboratively with service users and their families/carers.
- Supporting/mentoring students on practice placement experience.
- Working in a multi-disciplinary team
- Quality improvement activities
- Recent experience providing care across a range of settings e.g. acute hospitals, mental health units, care homes etc and including adults and older people.
- Recent experience in assessing and caring for older people with dementia.
