Applications are invited for a fixed-term Consultant position with a specialist interest in Glaucoma. This 6-month role is to provide maternity leave cover and is based primarily at Whipps Cross University Hospital.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join our busy Ophthalmic unit. The successful candidate will become part of an established multi-disciplinary Ophthalmic team committed to delivering high-quality patient care.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder will play a key role in managing and developing the service, ensuring the delivery of excellent care, and contributing to an active training programme. With Whipps Cross Hospital undergoing significant redevelopment, this is an exciting opportunity to join at a pivotal time and help shape the future of Ophthalmic care.

Qualifications
Essential criteria- CCT or equivalent or within 6 months of a date or on GMC Specialist Register FRCOphth or equivalent Glaucoma fellowship or ASTO
- Experience as a Consultant with sub-specialty interest in Glaucoma Higher degree Academic prizes
Experience
Essential criteria- Competent in managing glaucoma and primary care eye conditions Competent in cataract surgery Competent in glaucoma filtration and glaucoma shunt surgery Competent with MIGS Competent with management of ocular trauma (surgical) and acute emergencies Supervising and training specialist trainees, fellows and AHP Competent in managing emergency eye clinics Evidence of publications in peer reviewed journals
- Management experience Hands on experience with service development Principal investigator in clinical trials
