37 hour working week
Rate £14.21 to £21.32 per hour [after 37 hours]
This is a fantastic opportunity to join Gi Group and work with one of our Clients in the South with sites in Andover and Romsey. This role will be part of a large team of Drivers supporting the environmental services provided by our Client in the community.The successful candidates must be committed to providing a first class service. You should be able to fully demonstrate a high level of driving competence and have a flexible approach to your work.
Driver Responsibilities:
- To drive &/or Operate the waste collection vehicle allocated for the day's work to collect waste from designated collection points, or as instructed. This may include loading duties.
- To oversee and take charge of the waste collection team to ensure that the daily round is completed within expected timescales.
- To carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects in accordance with current procedure to ensure that the vehicle is maintained and legal to be driven on the road
- To complete all relevant records (paper based or digital) legibly and in a timely fashion, as requested by the supervisor. This includes the completion of round
- To work with other team members to ensure the commitments of the service are met.
- To clean the exterior and interior of the vehicle regularly when the need arises.
- To ensure that all company Health & Safety policies are adhered to as well as customer site rules.
- To wear all required PPE.
Driver requirements and skills:
- You MUST be in possession of a HGV Class 2 license and Driver CPC Cards
- Motoring convictions starting with the code SP for speeding offences are acceptable, up to a max. of 6 points. NB: no other endorsements / convictions are acceptable.
- Strong work ethic, reliable, flexible, Upbeat, self-motivated and resilient - are welcomed in this role.
