Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Stress Engineer to join our team in the defence sector. The successful candidate will conduct structural assessments to validate mechanical integrity under operational conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct structural assessments to validate mechanical integrity under operational conditions.
- Estimate, plan, lead, and deliver a variety of structural analysis work packages using both classical hand calculation methods and CAE tools (Hyperworks desirable).
- Prepare and present comprehensive technical reports, conveying complex findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including senior management.
- Develop and improve methods, processes, and tools proactively.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, providing technical expertise and fostering their professional growth.
- Take responsibility and work independently as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Communicate effectively, both written and verbally, to network, influence, and manage internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in a relevant engineering/science discipline or significant experience in a relevant field (e.g., Mechanical, Aerospace, Structural Analysis).
- Proven experience in structural analysis work packages.
- Proficiency in classical hand calculation methods and CAE tools (Hyperworks desirable).
- Strong skills in preparing and presenting technical reports.
- Proactive and passionate about developing and improving methods, processes, and tools.
- Experience mentoring and supporting junior engineers.
- Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
