Teacher of PE

Full Time 1.0, Maternity Cover, MPS

September 2025 – July 2026

We are seeking to appoint a teacher who:

• Has real enthusiasm for their subject and a commitment to teaching PE.
• Teach engaging and challenging lessons that promote students’ abilities to learn independently and to respond effectively to feedback.
• Is able to instill in pupils a love of PE.
• Is uncompromising about securing excellent progress and outcomes for all students.
• Has excellent subject knowledge.
• Has a very clear understanding about how students learn effectively.
• Believes that PE has an important role to play in the development of pupils’ skills, knowledge and understanding.
• Recognises the value of learning beyond the classroom in enhancing the understanding and experience of the world in which we live.

Burton Borough is a vibrant and inclusive school of 1160 students, on the Shropshire/Staffordshire border within the pleasant market town of Newport. Our location provides easy access to/from Shrewsbury, Stafford, Telford and Wolverhampton.
