EPR Senior Programme Manager

The Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust is looking for an Electronic Patient Record (EPR) Senior Programme Manager.

This is a hugely exciting opportunity to play a major role in the Trust’s implementation of its new Electronic Patient Record (EPR). This challenging programme is the largest clinical system transformation programme the Trust has undertaken and is key to the Trust’s Strategy to fundamentally transform ways of working.

Main duties of the job

The EPR Senior Programme Manager will support the EPR Programme Director in managing the EPR Programme with specific responsibility for the programme management and workstream teams.

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to Masters degree level or equivalent qualification and leadership experience
  • Practical knowledge of Programme and Portfolio management
  • Prince 2 & MSP or equivalent formal project / programme management qualification
Desirable criteria
  • Industry recognised ICT qualifications and experience in ICT, or equivalent proven experience in a senior position
  • Change management qualifications
  • ITIL or other IT service management frameworks
  • Management qualification or equivalent management experience gained at a senior level

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Relevant experience in health service or other major large-scale customer service-oriented organisation
  • Experience at senior management level
  • Experience in managing and completing a range of complex activities, including the development of strategies, business plans, service improvements and resource planning
  • Experience of contract and supplier management
  • Proven experience of managing and prioritising multiple workloads and meeting deadlines
  • Proven experience in financial management including managing large budgets, income generation
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of programme managing EPR programmes
  • Proven experience in the delivery of large scale clinical system programmes across large complex multi-organisation structure
  • Proven people management experience with evidence of leading through change

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written, including very strong presentation skills in order to communicate complex and sensitive information effectively to a variety of audiences
  • Can articulate and engage others in a vision for EPR as an enabler for improvements in clinical quality, efficiency and effectiveness
  • Excellent diplomacy and negotiating skills, coupled with the ability to remain objective when dealing with often very complex issues that can be contentious
  • Ability to solve complex analytical problems, independently analyse information and make recommendations based on this analysis
  • Demonstrable capability of delivering major programmes of work on time
  • Credible and able to gain the confidence of multidisciplinary groups and stakeholders, including senior managers / executive teams, staff, colleagues and customers
