Do you have experience of working with and developing workshops for young people? Do you have the skills to coordinate a programme of work with target audiences, artists and key partners?

About us

At the Science Museum Group, STEM engagement is at the heart of what we do. We ignite curiosity around STEM by assisting discovery through active participation and social interaction. This role would work within a project team driving interaction and engagement with digital arts through an innovative pilot project: Bradford Digital Creatives.

Bradford Digital Creatives is an Arts Council-funded, collaborative project between the National Science and Media Museum, Born in Bradford (Age of Wonder), Bradford Council, Bradford City of Culture 2025 and Bradford Cultural Education Partnership.

The programme will consist of delivering professional artist-led workshops in schools to empower young people to tell their own stories about growing up in Bradford through a variety of digital artforms, using new and emerging technology.

About the role

As Producer for Digital Creatives, you'll engage young people with high-quality activities in schools and during the Generate festival.

Working closely with the Digital Creatives team and our external partners, you'll produce programmes that engage young people, particularly those with traditionally low exposure to digital arts.

This will involve coordinating school workshops and ensuring they meet project goals by empowering young people to use digital tools to express their creativity and develop creative voices. You'll collaborate with the Communications Lead to capture the workshops' impact, sharing the stories and experiences that emerge.

For the Generate festival, you will develop a package of engaging events and programme for schools and families at the museum, ensuring the activities are accessible and relevant to diverse audiences, including both local communities and tourists for Bradford City of Culture 2025.

As an advocate for Generate, you'll seek to engage new groups and audiences while maintaining accurate records for reporting to funders and partners.

We can offer the flexibility of hybrid working for this position; this will be balanced with the range of in-person activities and face to face relationship management necessary for the programme.

Fixed Term Contract until Sept 2025

Salary: £27,500 per annum

About you

You'll have experience of planning and delivering high-quality, accessible learning content for diverse audiences, especially young people. You will also be skilled in workshop coordinator and facilitation, as well as simplifying complex ideas into engaging content for different needs.

Experience of delivering creative events in museums, science centres, heritage or educational environments is advantageous. A high level of organisational skills will help you manage the range of activity and stakeholders, as well as proactive problem-solving, and a flexible, detail-oriented approach.
