Overview
The Backshift Cover Driver is a flexible, highly adaptable team member who primarily provides coverage for high-volume shifts, as well as covering for sickness and absences. This role requires the driver to be cross-trained on all client accounts, ensuring a broad knowledge base that allows them to step in seamlessly wherever needed.This role is full time, 6 days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
Shift Coverage: Primarily responsible for covering evening and late shifts to support high-demand periods. Will fill in for absences due to sickness or leave, often on short notice.
Client Account Flexibility: Trained to handle a range of client accounts, allowing for smooth transitions across different delivery or logistical needs and reducing potential downtime for the team.
High-Volume Handling: Skilled in managing larger workloads and adapting to increased demands, especially during peak times or when team capacity is reduced.
Operational Coordination: Works closely with dispatch and scheduling teams to ensure efficient route coverage, and communicates any challenges that could impact delivery timelines.

- Adaptability: Able to quickly adapt to different routes, procedures, and client-specific requirements.
- Reliability: Highly dependable, especially critical for last-minute shift coverage.
- Client-Focused: Provides a high level of service across all accounts, maintaining consistency regardless of which client they are covering for.
- Cross-Training Commitment: Willingness to continuously update skills across accounts to stay aligned with client needs.
- Must have multi drop delivery experience
- Valid UK, European, or International Manual license.
- Over 21, 12+ months UK driving, max 6 penalty points.
- Live within 30 minutes from one of our several depots.
- Must be entitled to work in the UK.
- International students who can't work self-employed are unfortunately ineligible.
- Other requirements may vary based on individual circumstances and our clients compliance.
