Chailey clinical services is planning for the future and is looking for a specialist Rehabilitation Engineering Technician.
We are looking for a multi-skilled engineering craftsperson/ Technician that has adaptable skills to fit in within our service. You must have a flexible approach to manufacture , have good people skills and be able to turn basic ideas into a finished product with the minimum of support.
The post holder is required to support specialist clinics on and off site as a specialist Rehabilitation Engineering Technician supporting a multidisciplinary team. The job is primarily based within a fully equipped Rehabilitation Engineering Workshop that has, alongside traditional machinery the latest technology such as3D scanning, 3D printing and CNC capability.You,along with three other Technicians will berequired to support a team of Rehabilitation Engineers and Clinical scientists carrying out repairs, adjustments, andmodificationsto specialist mobility equipment used by disabled children and young adults.
Although the main bulk of this work is manufacturing and assembly of custom-made wheelchair seating, there will be the requirement to adapt your skills to other custom-made postural devices, such as lying supports, standers, and trikes. Although we are primarily looking for an experienced technician, we would consider someone that met the minimum specification, had the right attitude but has less formal engineering experience, who is keen to develop there engineering skills further in a new field.
The Rehabilitation Engineering Service are in the midst of an exciting project of investment into new technologies used to manufacture and modify equipment. This project offers innovation opportunities for the whole department alongside team and service development.We also have a strong training and continuing professional development programme to grow and develop our own experienced team. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is keen to join us and work with the team to provide a high quality service to our clients.
