Within your duties as an Maintenance Electrician you will need to be keen and enthusiastic, the main activities are maintenance, reactive repairs, compliance monitoring and associated remedial work.- Applicants should be able to prioritise their work
- Identify parts and materials required for specific tasks
- Understand and carry out tasks from appropriate technical instructions/drawings, specifications in a safe, tidy manner
- Be capable of working on their own initiative to a high standard
- Be able to demonstrate knowledge in electrical maintenance work, reactive repairs, compliance monitoring and associated remedial work
- In the performance of your role you will be expected to form good working relationships and show a customer service approach with clients, staff and contract personnel.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- To undertake planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance and emergency works as demanded by a Hospital of this type. Use all skills, experience and knowledge ensuring safe working methods to carry out maintenance tasks in the most cost effective way for the Trust
- To understand the workings of buildings, engineering services and systems in NHS/Trust premises. Ensuring that they are maintained to a high standard and that all plant and equipment are utilised in a safe and efficient manner
- To carry out work in a timely manner as requested using the current works requisition system and ensuring that any associated information is recorded.
- To work as part of a departmental team and where necessary support colleagues of all levels and disciplines as required.
- To provide a maintenance service to all Trust buildings, off site properties and be able to work unsupervised.
- To maintain continuity of service there will be times when extra hours, altered work patterns, duties or location are required.
- To keep up to date with current legislation and attend training courses as directed by Estate Management
- To be able to work safely in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act, current guidance and to follow any other safety policies as issued by the Trust
- To be compassionate and mindful to our clients and be mindful of the need for safe use, security, storage of plant, equipment and tools

Qualifications
Essential criteria- NVQ3- or equivalent in relevant trade
- BS7671 18th edition + amendments
- Health & Safety qualification in one of the following:- Abrasive wheel certificate
- Safe Use of Ladders
- Safe use/work from scaffold towers (PASMA) COSHH
- Manual Handling
- CSCS card
- Health & Safety qualification in two or more of the following: (A,I):
- Abrasive wheel certificate
- Safe Use of Ladders

- City & Guilds 2391 Periodic Inspection & Testing
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria- Knowledge of the compliance demands in healthcare premises
- To be able to work in occupied areas safely and conduct oneself in a manner that preserves dignity and respect to our clients
- To be able to deal with tense difficult and stressful situations in the ward environment
- Previous NHS experience in this type of environment
