Staffordshire (commutable from Stoke, Stafford, Crewe and surrounding areas)
Salary - £40,000 - £45,000 (Depending on experience)

SRG is working with a leading researcher and manufacturer, who develop and manufacture high performance speciality chemicals. Based in the Staffordshire area, they have recently started hiring for a new head of their R&D team. This is a great opportunity for a senior chemist with a strong research background in R&D for polymers, materials or inorganic synthesis to make a move into a management tole.You will join a company that is growing and adding new equipment to their lab. Applications from senior chemists who would be interested in managing an R&D team are encouraged. Any previous management/mentoring experience would be a massive bonus.

Role Description- Leading R&D for novel materials with applications within the polymers and coatings industries.
- Researching new chemical technologies in line with the company's product range
- Scaling up chemical production processes to pilot plant scale.
- Liaising with customers, consulting and providing detailed technical support and demonstrations.
- Solving a diverse set of problems relating to new product development
- Managing the R&D laboratory and team within
- General laboratory housekeeping and working with technical reports and safety data sheets
- Degree educated in materials science, polymers or inorganic chemistry. A PhD would be preferable
- Significant recent experience managing R&D projects within a relevant industry (materials, nanoparticles, polymer synthesis for example)
- Experience working within polymer formulation or materials development
- Willingness to travel occasionally around the UK and Europe
- Ability to travel or relocate to the Staffordshire area.
- Full right to work in the UK.
