We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our dynamic team at a renowned school in Poole from October 2024.As a Behaviour Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in promoting a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Position: Learning Support Assistant - Behaviour Specialist- Work closely with students displaying challenging behaviour to foster a positive learning atmosphere and enhance their overall educational experience.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, focusing on behaviour management, emotional regulation, and social skills development.
- Collaborate with teachers and other educational professionals to implement tailored strategies and support plans for students with behavioral needs.
- Observe and assess students' progress, tracking behavioural improvements, and providing regular feedback to the teaching team.
- Be flexible and available on-call to assist in managing behavioural incidents that may arise throughout the school day.
- Demonstrate a caring and empathetic approach, helping students build self-confidence and resilience in the face of challenges.
- Promote a safe and inclusive environment, fostering a sense of belonging and understanding for all students.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Previous experience working with students with challenging behaviour or special educational needs is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and build rapport with students and colleagues.
- An understanding of behavioural management strategies and the ability to apply appropriate techniques in a school setting.
- Patience, resilience, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
- A genuine passion for supporting students' educational and emotional development.
- A relevant qualification in education or special needs support would be advantageous.
