Job overview
This is an opportunity to spend your summer learning from and contributing to the NHS . This internship is now in its fifth year, with alumni from Harvard, MIT, London, Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial, Manchester and Brunel Business Schools.
Who can apply?
This post is offered as a professional development summer internship for people part way through or who have just completed a MBA or closely linked programme (e.g., MPA). Its intention is to give insights and experiences of working inside a large NHS organisation, whilst the NHS organisation benefits from the candidate’s own knowledge, experience, and ideas.
Candidates do not need prior experience of the NHS or the healthcare industry. Equally, candidates with such experiences are also very welcome to apply themselves in a new context to support their professional development. The intention of this programme is to attract talented candidates with diverse industry, functional and professional skills and backgrounds who can use this internship to explore career opportunities within the NHS and gain relevant experience for future applications..

Main duties of the job
The post will support transformation, improvement and strategic initiatives within each organisation. Illustrative projects and initiatives have included:

- Operational and performance improvement support
- Staff and patient engagement
- Process mapping and engineering
