We are seeking a passionate and experienced Groupwork Development Officer to join our team and contribute to our mission of reducing re-offending and improving outcomes for prisoners' children and family members.
About the Role: As a Groupwork Development Officer, you will play a crucial role in delivering Client's groupwork programs for women serving sentences. Your responsibilities will include:
Facilitating relationship and parenting courses, including topics such as effective communication, conflict resolution, and healthy boundaries
Supporting the recruitment of participants through outreach activities and partnerships with prison staff
Developing and maintaining partnerships with prison agencies, social services, and other organizations that work with women in prisonCollecting and analyzing data to inform program improvement, including tracking participant attendance, progress, and outcomes
Providing individual support to participants, including listening, counseling, and offering guidance on a range of issues, such as mental health, substance abuse, and financial management
Collaborating with other professionals involved in the participants' lives, such as prison staff, social workers, and family members, to develop and implement comprehensive support plans
Developing and implementing new groupwork programs and activities that address the specific needs of women in prison, such as vocational training, life skills development, and financial literacy
Representing Client at conferences, workshops, and other events to raise awareness of our programs and services
Key Qualifications:
Adult training qualification Level 3 or equivalentProven experience in delivering groupwork programs, preferably with women in prison or other marginalized populations
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships with people from diverse backgrounds
Ability to work effectively in a prison environment and navigate complex systems
Passion for making a positive impact on the lives of others
Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds, including those with mental health conditions, substance abuse issues, and criminal justice involvement
Knowledge of issues related to imprisonment, re-offending, and gender-based violence
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
