As the operational manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the CMHT. You will oversee the delivery of a service against key performance indicators and work with teams to ensure that they are able to meet the needs of the local population.You will work with external agencies to develop an integrated place-based model of care that we deliver to residents in the neighbourhoods they live in.
You will have opportunity and training to develop skills and will be supported by a Deputy Director and Service manager with a comprehensive, and detailed understanding of mental health.

Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Brent Community Mental Health Health Team as an Operational Team Manager.
The successful candidate will be a forward thinking highly visible leader, with a commitment to the development of services.
You will need to have significant experience at band 7 or above to be eligible to apply for this opportunity.
The successful candidate will have proven track records of leadership and development, be an effective role model, self-motivated with the commitment, drive and adaptability to thrive in these demanding posts.
They will need to be flexible and resilient in order to cope with the demands of the role. In addition, they must be able to influence and negotiate in order to improve the service the teams provide for their patients. Evidence of continuing professional development is essential.You will work closely with the full range of the multi-disciplinary team.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Overview of Main Responsibilities:- To be the operational manager for the Community Mental Health Team, responsible for the workload of the team and ensuring that priorities are met.
- To ensure systems for the delivery of care plans and Personalisation are in place and that they are made available to service users in the team
- To work with in the relevant legislative frameworks |(e.g. Mental Health Act (1983) Mental Capacity Act (2005), Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, Care Act 2014 etc)
- To promote a culture of service user choice and control within team members daily practice to be monitored and developed through supervision and appraisal
- To ensure that the team works within the relevant frameworks and policies for safeguarding vulnerable adults
- To ensure that services within the multidisciplinary team are well co-ordinated in order they are responsive and attuned to the needs of its service users
- To ensure that systems are in place for monitoring allocation, caseloads and clinical review processes
- To ensure that clinical supervision is given to all professional staff in the team and to ensure that staff work to high standards of professional practice.
- To demonstrate a high level of clinical competence both in relation to supervision of staff and direct face to face contact with service users
- To ensure that the service works in co-ordination with other community and Acute In-Patient services.
- To ensure effective liaison with other relevant agencies
- To maintain and develop administrative procedures regarding the recording of case records.
- To ensure that service users are involved in the development of the team and local services

Education and Qualifications
Essential criteria- BSc/BA in a health or social care discipline
- Relevant Management Qualification
- • Senior Management training in leadership, policy or strategy
- • MSc in specialist field or equivalent experience
Experience
Essential criteria- • Extensive experience of managing a multi- disciplinary staff team including line management supervision responsibility and operational management of services at B7
- • Experience of managing integrated Adult community Mental Health Services Experience of change management
- • Experience of partnership working with other agencies and multi-professional collaboration
- Experience of service development
- • Experience of managing staff and resources
- Experience of managing budgets
- • Experience of report writing and delivering presentations
- • Experience with a range of IT packages e.g. Word, Excel, email
