We are looking for enthusiastic and forward thinking Occupational Therapists to joinRehabilitation and High Support services in two newly established posts: Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist for Rehabilitation Services (Inpatient) and Clinical Lead Occupational Therapists for Low Secure and PICU services.

You will haveleadership, clinical and managerial skills developed through experience and postgraduate training, providing expert knowledge and support to occupational therapy staff. You will work in partnership with occupational therapy staff, clinical service managers, operational managers, service users and carers to deliver and support evidence based rehabilitation and recovery pathways for service users in RHS inpatient services.

Support for the role will be available from the Principal OTand senior OT staff across the Trust.

Main duties and responsibilities

The successful candidate will be an experienced and confident practitioner with clinical experience in mental health and demonstrable leadership skills. The role will include
  • Ensuring delivery of person centred, occupation focused, high quality, safe and effective occupational therapy services across RHS inpatient services.
  • Providing clinical and management supervision for occupational therapy staff.
  • Supporting continuing professional development for occupational therapy staff and occupational therapy learners (students and apprentices).
  • Providing highly specialised assessments and interventions using evidenced based and person centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions
  • Advocating for occupational therapy’s role and contribution to Rehabilitation and High Support and Trustwide services.
  • Supporting the recruitment and retention of occupational therapy staff.
