IKEA Leeds are looking for a new Unit Business Risk & Compliance Leader to join their team!
In this role you will ensure a holistic and proactive safety and security risk handling for respective Markets. Making sure Area priorities are well accepted & understood by the Market stakeholders to lead and develop a proactive and comprehensive agenda of a healthy working environment, mitigating risks and ensuring that all Unit BR&C responsible identify, assess and proactively handle those risks at a local level.
WHAT WE OFFER- The Start Date of employment will be: April 2025
- This role offers a salary starting from £27,956 per annum, based on competence & experience.
- 39 Hours working 5 days per week, shifts will include evenings and alternative weekend working.

- Minimum 2 years of experience in the field of occupational health & safety, fire safety or security.
- Ability to make well balanced decisions taking different business, people and ethical perspectives into consideration.

- Knowledge of national laws and legislations connected to risk management, health, safety and security.
- Knowledge of relevant risk and compliance, health, safety and security steering documents and working methods.
- Knowledge of how to assess and mitigate risks in a business environment.
- Knowledge of how to implement work structures to meet the standards set by local laws and regulations.
- Good knowledge of crisis management and implementation.
- Good knowledge of the risk management and risk assessment process.
For this role it is desirable that you have a NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification. If you do not have the qualification already IKEA can support you with this however you are willing to undertake the necessary study.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY- Promote risk management in the unit, informing and sharing expertise in order to develop risk-aware decision taking in relation to unit goals and unit business plan
- Secure the implementation and follow through of Ingka Rules and Local (country and regional) legislation, guiding local stakeholders, to ensure compliance and a healthy, safe and secure environment for customers, visitors, co-workers and external partners, also operating risk and compliance verifications within the matrix framework.
- Conduct internal investigations, analysing unit processes and data in collaboration with local and country stakeholders, following Ingka rules and standards to ensure compliance.
- Identify and plan for the proper trainings needed and facilitate for co-workers and external partners to meet IKEAs/Ingkas risk appetite.
- Create a Risk & Compliance culture by developing leadership and conscious approach in identifying and implementing systems to detect, analyse and reduce business loss, financial impact, prevent incidents and accidents.
- Be the single point of contact for all the matters connected to Risk & Compliance when it comes from Authorities (when applicable).
- Coordinate the Unit Crisis Management Team for the handling of any emergency cases and perform appropriate actions according to the “Ingka Emergency Response rules” to ensure process is followed and all key stakeholders are involved.
- Plan for and ensure that Crisis Management trainings and ways of working are in place in accordance with the Crisis Management Team working method and Country and Local Crisis Management Team plans and protocols to ensure all involved know their responsibilities.
- Coordinate external vendors and appropriate vendor management to ensure proactive mitigation of risk by ensuring the right resources.
