Join our journey to create a new experience for the National Lottery and help us to power change for the greater good.

About us:

We are Allwyn UK, part of the Allwyn Entertainment Group – a multi-national lottery operator with a market-leading presence in Austria, the Czech Republic, Greece, Cyprus and Italy. We have been officially awarded the Fourth Licence (10 year licence) to operate the National Lottery starting February 2024.

We’ve developed ground-breaking technologies, built player protection frameworks, and have a proven track record of making lotteries better. Our aim is to create one of the UK’s most inclusive organisations – where people can bring the best of themselves, to do their best work, every day, for the benefit of good causes.

Allwyn is an Equal Opportunity Employer which prides itself in being diverse and inclusive. We do not tolerate discrimination, harassment, or victimisation in the workplace. All employment decisions at Allwyn are based on the business needs, the job requirements, and the individual qualifications.

Allwyn encourages applications from individuals regardless of age, disability (visible or hidden), sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief and marriage and civil partnerships.

While the main contribution of the National Lottery to society is through the funds to good causes, at Allwyn we put our purpose and values at the heart of everything we do. Join us as we embark on a once-in-a-lifetime, large scale transformation journey to build a bigger, better, and safer National Lottery that delivers more money to good causes.

Role Purpose:

As a Product Designer you’ll be involved in all stages of the product design process, from absorbing business challenges and player pain points to researching, designing, testing and iterating on high quality design concepts across our web, app and digital retail channels.

Working collaboratively as part of a passionate team, you’ll put our players at the heart of everything we do to explore and create amazing player experiences that are bulletproof based on player insights/data as well as being rigorously tested.

We operate a hybrid working model and may require employees to work from the office upto 3 days per week. These in-office days will be spread across the standard working week (Monday-Friday).

Team Description:

You will be working closely within a growing product design and content team to deliver an expansive and varied level of work which spans every part of the National Lottery brand. The product design team sits within the wider Digital Factory team and you’ll be working with the likes of product management, BAs, developers and delivery managers on a regular day to day basis.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Create and communicate bulletproof design concepts through sketches, player flows, wireframes and prototypes under the tutelage of the Sr Product Designer and the Senior UX & Design Manager.
  • Perform your own qualitative and quantitative research studies to build a greater understanding of player behaviours, attitudes and pain points. Produce journey maps and player flows to translate the touchpoints and processes and identify opportunities for our digital roadmaps.
  • Validate ideas, sketches and designs through player research and player testing.
  • Produce high-fidelity UI and motion designs to articulate functionality and interactions.
  • Participate in discovery/design workshops to explore ideas in a collaborative way.
  • Partner with Product Managers to update and share new insights and opportunities.
  • Work closely with development teams to bring designs to life and come up with bulletproof solutions against technical constraints.
  • Be a champion for commercial success during and at the end of design cycles for the positive impacts we have on player experiences.
  • Champion our design systems in your work to ensure it can scale effectively.

Key Skills and Experience:

Essential:

  • A product design professional with a portfolio that showcases your work.
  • Highly visible, collaborative and able to convey design challenges, updates from early ideation to final end product walkthroughs.
  • Curious and confident, you are a champion of our players and what’s right for their experiences.
  • Cover most of the product design lifecycle (if you aren’t as hot on certain areas then we provide on the job training!). Love working in an environment where attention to detail breeds amazing end solutions.
  • Thrive in making a difference to multiple KPIs that are not just conversion but also healthy play and welfare.
  • Passionate about player-centred principles.
  • Experience working in cross functional teams on digital products and services in a fluid/agency style nature - we don’t silo our designers into certain areas of the overall experience.
  • Have extensive experience of running your own primary and secondary research studies. Ideally having a ton of experience in using UserZoom or similar.
  • Master of Figma - prototyping is key to how we do player testing.

Our goal is to create one of the UK’s most inclusive organisations – where people can bring the best of themselves, to do their best work, every day, for the benefit of good causes.

Allwyn is an Equal Opportunity Employer which prides itself in being diverse and inclusive. We do not tolerate discrimination, harassment, or victimisation in the workplace. All employment decisions at Allwyn are based on the business needs, the job requirements, and the individual qualifications.
