Join Home Group as our Disrepair Lawyer and join our in-house Property Litigation and Housing Management Team. You’ll provide vital legal support on matters of housing management and property litigation to colleagues, acting for the business in both defending legal cases and taking legal actions as necessary.

Working with our Head of Housing and Development Legal and the other teams in our Legal Department, you’ll deliver a customer focused in-house legal service.

Typical day as a Disrepair Lawyer
Giving advice on disrepair claims, including getting court proceedings and paperwork ready.
  • Helping our maintenance teams to understand and respond to disrepair claims.
  • You aid in managing rental and leasehold properties, making sure all agreements follow the law, and setting up systems to make processes easier.
  • You oversee work given to outside firms, making sure it's done well and effectively.
  • You get applications ready for court or tribunal, doing research, collecting proof, and writing statements. Sometimes, you might represent the company in court or ask another lawyer to do so.
  • Occasionally, you help with other property legal issues, like anti-social behaviour or possession cases, preparing court proceedings and paperwork for these cases.

You are
  • A qualified Legal Executive, solicitor, or barrister with extensive experience in housing law, particularly disrepair cases, capable of managing your own caseload.
  • Proficient in preparing court documents, attending court proceedings, and have a firm understanding of civil procedure rules and disrepair protocol.
