Financial Reporting Accountant

Overview:

The Financial Reporting Accountant will be responsible for preparing and analysing financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing accurate financial reporting to internal stakeholders. This role will require a strong understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Maintain and update financial records, ensuring the integrity of financial data.
  • Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Provide financial data to senior management for decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Compliance and Regulation
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, financial reporting requirements, and company policies.
  • Assist in the preparation of VAT returns and other statutory filings.
  • Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and standards.
  • Continuous improvement
  • Proactively identify areas for process improvement and implement changes.
  • Enhance internal controls over financial reporting.

Qualifications:

  • ACCA or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in financial reporting or related field.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.
