For our client, a retail / fashion brand based in South London, we are looking for a motivated (Junior) Management Accountant, who is currently pursuing an ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualification. Role: (Junior) Management Accountant Location: London Salary: up to £36,000 p.a. Full Time / Qualified or Part-Qualified Purpose of the Role: Oversee the month-end cost accrual process, including preparation of postings, performance analysis against budget and prior year, balance sheet reconciliations, and balance sheet review.
Take ownership of key account lines within the P&L, ensuring accuracy and a clear understanding of balances. Ensure all month-end cost journals are accurately calculated and processed on time for key P&L accounts. Provide variance explanations compared to budget and previous year.
Complete balance sheet reconciliations monthly, investigating and resolving any variances promptly. Manage the Fixed Asset Register, including CAPEX reporting against budget and liaising with business stakeholders. Assist with intercompany reconciliations.
Support the year-end audit process. Work with finance colleagues to ensure accuracy and timely delivery of daily and weekly sales reporting. Conduct commercial analysis, supporting ad hoc analysis on sales, costs, and profitability. Build relationships across the business to facilitate financial understanding and support strategic decision-making.
Review and redesign reporting processes to enhance value-added outputs. Key Skills & Experience:Essential: Qualified / Part-qualified / studying towards an accounting qualification (ACCA/ACA/CIMA). Advanced Excel skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all outputs.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across finance and wider business teams. Proactive team player with the ability to work independently. Strong multi-tasking ability. Ability to work under pressure and meet varying deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective time management and organisational skills. Flexibility with working hours, particularly at month-end. A continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to identify and implement process enhancements.
