EAL Teaching Assistants (full time) - Barry
Location: Vale of Glamorgan
Equal Education Partners are recruiting on behalf of a local secondary school in the Vale of Glamorgan for a Supply EAL Teaching Assistant. We are seeking an enthusiastic, adaptable, and reliable individual to support English as an Additional Language (EAL) students.As a supply teaching assistant, you will provide support to EAL students, helping them to develop their English language skills and integrate into the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support EAL students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups.
- Assist with language acquisition and help students improve their spoken and written English.
- Work alongside class teachers to adapt lessons and activities for EAL students.
- Encourage students to participate in classroom activities and help build their confidence.
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers on student development.
- Experience working with EAL students or in a similar teaching assistant role is preferred.
- A good understanding of language acquisition techniques and how to support EAL learners.
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, patient approach to students.
- A DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service) or willingness to apply for one.
- A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
