Interim Head of Finance - London

A leading not-for-profit chartered membership body based in central London is seeking an immediately available Head of Finance for a 6 month fixed term contract role.

The organisation has around 18,000 members, with approximately 50 staff and a turnover of £5 million. Their members are internationally recognised quality management professionals, and the organisation provides an impressive array of membership services, events and qualifications to its members.

The interim Head of Finance role is full-time, with a salary of circa £80,000 per annum and the role is offered on a hybrid basis with somewhere between 1-3 days per week required onsite at the central London office. The role reports to the Executive Director of Corporate Services.

The organisation is currently operating without a Head of Finance, and they key deliverables for this interim role are:

• Leading on the audit prep and liaising with the auditors to ensure clean audit status in maintained (year-end is December)
• Contribute to the final production of the statutory accounts in co junction with the Financial Accountant
• Managing and motivating a small finance team of 4 – many of whom are new to the organisation
• Improve the core processes and productivity of the finance system (Business Central) and other related systems around reporting, expenses and payments

Requirements:

• Fully-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
• Strong evidence of managing and motivating a finance team
• Technically competent and ‘systems savvy’ with the ability to get the best out of finance systems
• Clear evidence and experience of the production of charity statutory accounts (SORP) and leading charitable organisations successfully through external audit

The role will also include elements of financial planning, financial control, annual budget setting, overseeing the production of management accounts produced by the management accountant, overseeing the fixed asset register and all tax issues and financial reporting.
