About the job you’re considering

Our Azure Solution Architects bring a mix of technical skills, industry insight, business acumen and leadership. They shape and define solution architectures for our clients which are used to lead the delivery, define project plans, manage the detailed design, inform technical risk analysis and support estimation.

Working as subject matter experts and trusted advisors in everything Azure related, they build out a continuous integration process married with a solid release strategy while having the ability to upskill our customer’s team members and advise on best practice and strategy to management

They work with a client from the earliest stages of a project (potentially in a presales capacity) through to delivery and ‘go live’. And they ensure solutions are secure, can scale and are fit for purpose, using their expertise in Azure and knowledge of the wider Microsoft technology stack and a variety of Open Source to achieve the best possible outcome for the client.

You will join a community of over 120 people that deliver some of the biggest and most exciting IT projects, all built on Microsoft technology across Power Platform, Dynamics 365 and Azure. Join a team that is delivering projects with a positive social impact at the forefront of technology trends with a comprehensive delivery methodology and technical accelerators.

You’ll be working with people ranging in experience, from early and emerging talent to specialists. Your passion for Cloud will be anchored in Microsoft technologies while being aware of other open-source options to be able to give well rounded and extremely informed advice.

Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

Your role
  • The role is delivery focused, usually working on a single implementation at any given time (with the opportunity to support sales and pre-sales activities if of interest).
  • Oversee and shape user needs gathering to ensure technical fit, helping inform the wider architecture of the solution to meet client objectives and goals as well as user needs.
  • Set Could Architecture best practices and processes, ensuring the adoption by the development teams.
  • Own the high level and low-level solution design of end to end Microsoft Azure projects.
  • Identify the Accelerators that can be introduced to assist with the implementation and adoption of Azure cloud within the project and organisation.
  • Design solutions with focus on security, accessibility and performance to ensure safety and scalability.
  • Support estimation, planning and delivery as a technical leader.
  • Be a key person interacting with client stakeholders, building relationships and customer trust in the capabilities of Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform and demonstrate the art of the possible that inspires clients and colleagues to deliver the best technical solution possible.
  • Collaborate with the wider Capgemini Architecture community to identify and develop new accelerators that can be introduced to new and existing projects.

Your skills and experience
  • Energy and excitement about architecting solutions using Azure PaaS components and a software engineering mindset
  • At least one modern programming language C#/Java/Java Script/Python/Go/Ruby etc.
  • Automation and Configuration Management tools such as ARM templates, Bicep or Terraform.
  • Azure Services (Application Insights, Azure DevTest Lab, API Management, Web and Mobile Apps, Windows VM etc.).
  • Awareness of other CI, CD & build automation tools (Jenkins, Quick Build, Teamcity, GitLab, Octopus Deploy etc.).
  • Broad understanding of DevSecOps with knowledge and experience of implementations with the Microsoft product stack (Azure/.NET, Dynamics, SharePoint, Azure DevOps)
  • Full implementation lifecycle experience using Microsoft technologies.
  • A passion for delivering according to an agile methodology, planning projects and releases in sprints and writing Epics, Features and User Stories.
  • Flexible attitude, critical thinking and the ability to engage with stakeholders at every level – from c-suite to end user.
  • You can successfully translate business and customer needs into a great digital customer experience.
  • A desire to continually develop your knowledge of new functionality in the Microsoft technology stack, knowing what the future holds and how it can benefit our customers.

Your Security Clearance

To be successfully appointed to this role, it is a requirement to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance. To obtain SC clearance, the successful applicant must have resided continuously within the United Kingdom for the last 5 years, along with other criteria and requirements.

Throughout the recruitment process, you will be asked questions about your security clearance eligibility such as, but not limited to, country of residence and nationality.
