Religious Worker
The Redeemed Assemblies Trust is a UK Registered Religious Charity that exists to benefit the residents of Southwark and the neighbourhoods, without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, race or of political, religious or other opinions by associating together the said residents and the local authorities, voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation with the objective of improving the conditions of life for the residents.
The organisation operates viable Community Churches and Community Foodbanks that care for the public and primarily for the unemployed, homeless, destitute, people without Recourse to Public Funds and low-income families. Our motto is fighting food poverty, providing essentials, and reducing food waste.
Job Summary: The ministry of Religious Workers is one of the most crucial because it is one of the most visible in the church.Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Distribute materials related to church services/meetings such as bulletins, hymnals, handouts, flyers etc. Distribute and collect surveys (such as visitor pamphlets)
- Support the Officiating Minister in Bible Studies, Communion Services and Prayer meetings
- Direct members and guests to their seats and help them in/out of services/meetings in an orderly manner
- Arrange Hall for regular Mass, Holy Communion and other special events for the community and ensure orderliness and discipline during Church Service/meetings
- Ensure that seats, equipment, and other Church service materials are kept clean and in place
- Count and keep records of people in Church services and other service users
- Load food parcels into foodbank vehicles and assist with distributions to members of the community.
- Sorts, packs food parcels, essentials, clothing materials for community residents.
