Our KS3 and KS4 Maths curriculums are three tiered, using differentiated outcomes for each lesson to ensure we deliver the best possible curriculum for students of all abilities. At KS5, we run A Level courses in both Maths and Further Maths, and student recruitment to these courses is consistently strong, with more than 350 students across the 6th form.The curriculum and assessment frameworks are stored on the school’s VLE (‘Copia’) to ensure that all materials are accessible for students, parents and staff.
The department comprises 19 teachers, led by the Head of Department and Key Stage Coordinators. The department is highly supportive and has a proven track record of successfully training new staff. Many of the team also have additional responsibilities across the school.The successful candidate will teach groups from all key stages; all teachers in the department are required to teach Maths to KS5.

The successful candidate will have:
- A good degree and Qualified Teacher Status
- Ability to teach Maths to KS5
- Knowledge of the requirements of the National Curriculum
- An understanding of recent curriculum / learning developments
- An understanding of the strategies required to motivate and enthuse all students across the ability range as part of a whole school approach to raising achievement
- An understanding of the processes and techniques required to assess, record and report students’ learning effectively
- Ability to be reflective and driven towards self-improvement
- A commitment to the ethos of the school
