CNC Programmer
We are seeking a highly skilled CNC CAM 5 Axis Programmer / Setter to join our clients dynamic team on a temp-to-perm basis, offering a competitive salary of approximately £45k.
Your primary objective will be to enhance business efficiency and profitability by ensuring that all goods are produced to precise engineering drawings, on time, and in compliance with ISO9001:2015 quality standards.
In this role, you will be responsible for programming and setting 5 Axis CNC machines using CAD CAM software (SolidCAM). You will ensure that all produced components meet the highest standards. You will also supervise and provide guidance to CNC Operators, delegating tasks and monitoring their daily performance to ensure optimal productivity.
Your day-to-day duties will include managing production activities with a keen eye on schedules and deadlines, ensuring components are produced efficiently and accurately the first time.
You will play a crucial role in identifying and recommending process improvements to enhance both efficiency and quality in the manufacturing process. Additionally, you will be tasked with developing and supporting CNC operators, ensuring that tooling, work holding, and planning within the machine shop are continually optimised.
Beyond the technical aspects, you will handle stock control and material ordering, collaborate with internal departments on production planning to meet assembly requirements, and maintain meticulous records, including data entry using a Sage 200 system.Maintaining a clean and organised work environment is critical, given the importance of keeping components in pristine condition.

Requirements- A minimum of three years of experience in a similar role, comprehensive experience with 5 Axis machining, and a solid background in CAD CAM (preferably SolidCAM) are required.
- Familiarity with machining materials like Aluminium, Mild Steel, and Stainless Steel, and experience with cavity and custom form tools, will be advantageous.
- HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering is desirable, a proven track record and relevant experience are key.
