Busy warehouse and distribution company based in Lisburn specialising in the supply of dry and ambient goods to the fast-food industry.

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Trainee Warehouse Operative to join our team to help carry out the day-to-day operations of our warehouse. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling various tasks within the warehouse environment.

The Trainee Warehouse Operative will ensure the safe receipt, storage, and dispatch of warehouse goods. Working as part of a team, the Trainee Warehouse Operative will pick, assemble, wrap, check and load goods to lorries, in a timely and accurate manner.

Duties also include taking delivery of shipments, checking goods for damages and incorrect or missing items, replenishing stock, and storing of goods in an organised structure.
The Trainee Warehouse Operator will help to maintain a tidy warehouse and ensure the cleanliness of the warehouse and other company owned vehicles, plant, and equipment.
Duties
  • Assemble orders in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner.
  • Ensure orders are picked with precision and match customer order sheets.
  • Replenish and rotate stock in line with procedures.
  • Wrap pallets prior to loading and dispatch.
  • Operate counterbalance and reach forklifts, as well as electronic pallet trucks.
  • Receive Goods Inwards and adhere to the Goods In and Tray Store procedures.
  • Assist with checking of goods and orders built by other team members.
  • Alert senior management to spillages, spoiled goods, defects, damages and incorrect or missing items in the warehouse.
  • Maintain a tidy, safe, and clean work environment in line with Health & Safety requirements.
  • Treat all goods and company owned plant and equipment with care and consideration.
  • Work as part of a team to continually deliver a high level of customer service and minimise errors.
  • Ensure efficient operations by adhering to relevant operational procedures, rules and schedules.
  • Any other duties assigned by senior management.
Skills/Experience
  • Experience not required, however we wish to recruit a trainee who is keen to learn and build a career in warehouse operations.
  • Forklift training and certification will be provided to the successful candidate.
  • Candidates should be fit to carry out manual handling activities.
