Teaching Assistant required for an Alternative Provision based in New Milton.

Join Our Team: 1:1 Teaching Assistant (Full-Time)

Are you passionate about supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you want to make a real difference in the lives of young people, aged 11-16, in a nurturing and alternative provision?

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work closely with a pupil, providing tailored support to help them thrive academically and emotionally. You will be part of a dynamic team focused on creating a positive and inclusive environment where every student can reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a student with SEMH needs, tailoring your approach to meet their individual requirements.
  • Assist with both academic tasks and social development, helping the student engage with their learning and build self-confidence.
  • Work alongside teachers and other staff to create and implement personalized learning plans.
  • Promote a safe and supportive environment, encouraging positive behavior and emotional well-being.
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to the teaching team to ensure the student's success.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with young people with SEMH, autism, or other additional needs.
  • Patient, empathetic, and a strong communicator.
  • Adaptable, proactive, and resilient in challenging situations.
  • A passion for making a difference and supporting students to overcome barriers to learning.
  • Team player who can collaborate effectively with both staff and students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
