More detail about the role An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Nurse (adult or paediatric) or Paramedic to join our team within the Walk-in centre as a Trainee Enhanced Clinical Practitioner (tECP), delivering high quality care for a variety of minor injuries and illnesses presentations.
The tECP will be supported and given appropriate and required training to be able to provide specialist healthcare autonomously and independently to adult and paediatric patients presenting with primary and urgent healthcare conditions. The tECP will be required to complete masters modules and in-house competencies and capabilities.
On successful completion of the competencies and training, the tECP will be accountable for the total episode of care of the patient including assessment, diagnosis, treatment and/or referral and discharge. The tECP will undertake the role in accordance with Trust and department guidelines.
The tECP will be responsible for ensuring a good working environment in which all patients and carers receive a high standard of care. It will mean that you lead by example and empower staff in their personal and professional development to undertake a greater range of clinical skills to modernise and improve patient care, including updates of essential training.
The post holder will be expected to work closely with the Senior Nurse, Lead Clinician and Clinical Services Manager in playing a proactive role in quality and service improvement. It is expected that the post holder will attend advance practice training/modules to further learning and continue delivering high standards of care, skill and knowledge.
This post is for a Band 6 Nurse Practitioner with training support in place to become a Band 7 Emergency Nurse Practitioner by completing a series of developmental competencies and educational modules. The team will support your development to progress within the Walk in Centre.
