A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a split post between our mainstream schools and special schools Speech & Language Therapy team. Our team comprises of enthusiastic and motivated therapists, with over 50 therapists based within the service.It is a supportive and dynamic team with professional development opportunities.
The post offers a unique opportunity to develop a wide repertoire of clinical skills. To achieve our commitment to delivering evidence based, high quality and progressive services, we implement an innovative way of working in schools delivering SLT services at the universal, targeted and specialist levels.
The role will encompass line management and support of junior speech and language therapists as well as speech and language therapy assistants. The post holder will also support the development and evaluation of service delivery
You will need:- Experience of working with a diverse paediatric caseload in mainstream and special schools.
- Experience of supporting the evaluation of service delivery in mainstream and special schools.
- Experience in developing and delivering targeted training sessions.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a uni and multidisciplinary team.
- Experience contributing annual review/EHCPs and implementing provision as outlined in EHCPs
- Ability to work flexibly and independently as necessary.
- Enthusiasm, imagination and initiative.
- To undertake specialist paediatric assessment of children/students on own caseload, who may have complex presentations and from this assessment to formulate a treatment plan and carry out this treatment as an autonomous practitioner
- To supervise and support undergraduate students, and be involved in teaching MDT staff as well as those from other agencies
- To support the implementation of evidence-based projects, including making recommendations for change in practice and participating in departmental research and audit as appropriate

The Paddock School and Mainstream Schools Therapies team is part of a wider St George's Children's Therapies team that work across acute, community and school sites. We were judged as outstanding in the most recent CQC inspection. As a member of the St George’s children’s therapies team, you will be part of a supportive and dynamic multi-disciplinary team, with regular opportunities for supervision and continuing professional development.
You will be based in Paddock Schools and Wandsworth mainstream schools to assess, devise intervention programmes and support their delivery to children who require Speech and Language therapy support.
The Children’s Therapy team consists of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and speech and language therapists. Therapists work in multi-disciplinary/multi agency teams across the borough of Wandsworth.
